Default 15,000 mile service at 14,000

Hey guys, I have just over 14,000 miles on my car right now and it's time for me to get my oil changed. I was wondering what your opinions are about getting the 15,000 mile service done all at the same time. Or, should I just wait to 15,000 and get it done then. My s2000 is my daily driver. I live less than 5 miles from work and come home for lunch. So I do a lot of little distance driving w/ long breaks between them.

Thanks for the input.

er...either or. doesn't matter. but since you drive short distances, go ahead and get the 15,000 service at 14,000.

OMG, can the car really tell the difference between having the service done at 14,000 miles or 15,000 miles or 16,000 miles. I don't think so.

I did have the timing belt changed on my '93 Prelude at 56,000 miles instead of 90,000 miles. Of course the car was ten years old. It's now eleven years old and I plan to keep it for another ten years.

Timing belt, what's that ?

Go ahead and have them do the 15.000 mile service. $tealer trips are normally an annoyance anyway.

I'm putting my car in storage in a month and will have roughly 87.000km on it. I'll have the 90.000km service done just before which will give the car new oil during its winter rest.

Those service intervals aren't too exact anyway. My owner's manual says 75.000km for coolant change and a little label under the hood says 80.000km instead

For other cars, I notice that European-recommended 30.000km spark plug intervals are a bit excessive considering the 105.000 mile intervals I was used to back in the states.

I have 16k on my car. Will anything 'bad' happen if I don't do the 15k service? Everything is good so far.

No, well .. unless you consider having more money in your wallet a bad thing.

I personally don't get the regular scheduled service.. I go in with a list, ask them to complete the list and I'm done..

I go by my own schedule..

Not to say that my way is right
