I am considering 18" wheels.

What wheel width, offset, and tire size should I look into?

I ask because I see that people on this board have wheels that range from 8.5 to 10 at the rears with tires ranging from 255 to 285.

I'm looking at Dazz's Matiz wheel. A person at Dazz told me that they reccommend 7.5 in the front and 8.5 but they do not stock those wheels in the offset for the S2000, which he said was +50. Does anyone have these wheels on their car? What are the specs on your wheels?

Jig, there are a few on the board running 18x10.5's w/ 285's even.

A 7.5x18 +50 w/ 225/40-18's and 8.5x18 +50 w/ 255/35-18's should work fine. Shouldn't rub, depends on model and brand of tire, but will be damn close (fronts might rub on liner fastener just rear of 12 o'clock in hard cornering with some bumps).

Thanks RT.

I noticed in Unicron's sig that he has 18x7.5 and 18x8.5 TE37's. In his pictures, the wheels look like they fit real well. Does anyone know the offsets his wheels have?

I have the DAZZ Matiz wheels on my car. 18x7.5 front and 18x8 in the rear. I was told the 18x8.5 wasn't going to work due to the offset. They still fit a 255/35 tire on the rear with no buldging.

Sorry, but I don't remember the offsets on the wheels I have. I do remember doing a "test" fit on my car before I payed for the wheels.

JiggaTaOG- Let me know if you want to see pictures of the wheels on the S2K. I have pictures when they were on my silver/black, but none of them on my yellow (yet).

I called Dazz and said +48 is the highest offset avalailable for the Dazz Matiz (someone else told me he could get me +50 the day before). So if I bought these wheels they would be 18x7.5 +48 in the front which Unicron has with his TE37's and they look like they fit well. The only thing is the rears would be 18x8.5 +48 which is slightly different from Unicron's. That means that the wheels will be moved a little bit away from the body right? Will 2mm actually make that much of a difference?

JiggaTaOG,

I am actually using 245/35/18 on my 18x8.5 with 50mm offset.

I didn't go with 255/35/18 because of weight. 255/35/18's look like they will just fit with the 18x8.5 with 50mm offset...but it's pushing the limits. 245/35/18 will definately fit on the 18x8.5 with 48mm offset.

I'm using Toyo Proxes T1-S tires in the back.

F20C,

No way man. 18x8.5 is flush with the body at 50mm offset.
