What are the positives and negatives for my 04 s2k

Looking at the FAQs and maintenance sections (as you did) will highlight the differences between the AP1 and early AP2 versions. About all you lack is VSA and drive by wire.

If you just got this car it probably needs tires and if you don't have maintenance documents I'd assume the former owner(s) barely changed the oil.
