30k mile service for S2000 cheaper than other cars?

I just took my Accord in for a major service (30k/60k/90k). It cost me $340. I asked the servie rep how much it would be for my S2000. He told me it would be cheaper since I wouldn't need spark plugs and wouldn't need to rotate the tires.... He quotes me $280.

Something doesn't seem right to me.

How much do you guys usually pay for this service? My car needs a valve adjustment pretty bad.

Sounds pretty good to me. I did mine at Menlo Honda up here in SF bay area for $310+tax. They originally quoted me $340 but when I told them I had a K&N drop in and wouldn't need a replacement, they knocked off the replacement cost. Btw, I did expect it to be more, but I'm not complaining. :) Good luck!

Whoa don't I repeat DO NOT EVER do a manufacturer's recommended service like a 30,000 mile one. You are getting taken to the cleaners and then some! They charge you up the ass for things like "check brake pads" which don't need to be checked and you can do it for nothing. Get an oil change, if you need to get a new air filter and put it on yourself. Don't be a victim!!! You can do your own spark plugs too for hundreds less than the dealer charges.

I'm due for this service as well, but haven't gotten to it quite yet. What all is entailed? Can I do it myself and save the cash?

I agree with the others. I doubt the dealer even does all those things on the list anyways.
