3M tape instead of headliner spray can for 3m thinsulate to hardtop roof?
I want to apply some 3m thinsulate I picked up on my hardtop roof but I would like to do it without removing the top as it took a lot of finesse/time to put it rattle/vibration/sound free.
Is this possible or would I have to use the headliner spray cans?

I suspect using the tape will still be a hassle working in the cramped interior and result in wrinkles in the headliner since it will only be secured in a very few places. But that's a guess.
If you don't have time to do the job right the first time what makes you think it'll take less time doing it again?

RSG Mugen rep with race brackets and yea the squeaks took some combination of finesse/pressing/bowing out/in of parts of the top and removal/addition of bolts in different pressure points and got it to the point where it didn't squeak unless a passenger sits (negligible squeaking).
I might forgo this at the time being if tape is going to fail much earlier than the spray.
