Thanks, for the compliments. As you might expect, most of these are highway miles. The trick is to keep it running reliably so I can take it on long trips where I rack up the miles.
I'm still on the original TCT, exhaust, O2 sensors and radiator. Besides the obvious required periodic maintenance, I have replaced the following: - Starter
- Alternator Brushes
- Fuel Pump
- Idler pulley & tensioner pulley
- Wheel bearings (actually the entire hubs)
- Struts & springs
- Clutch (once at 330,000 due to bad throwout bearing)
- PCV
- Windshield (three times)
- Coil packs
- Brake caliper
- A/C Compressor
When the car was a year old and had 6,000 miles I installed an Amsoil Dual Remote Bypass Filter as well as a prelube pump. Here is a link to my setup. I gradually extended my oil change intervals up to 40,000 miles since the filter did a great job of keeping my oil clean. Here is a thread showing my latest UOA.
The car still runs great. It burns a lot more oil than it used to, but I'm not convinced it's caused by worn rings. No puffs of blue smoke at startup or acceleration. I've had to flush the clutch fluid a few times to keep it from losing fluid, but the master and slave cylinders are still original.
