Truly amazing. I dont think I have ever seen an s2000 with that mileage.
I take my cap of to you sir

I thought my 2006 diesel Honda Accord which has just passed 200,000 a few weeks ago was alot, and yours being an s2000 is just astonishing.
As agreed, original TCT is the amazement here too.

Also seems that my 1999 s2000 currently on 90,600 miles is still really low. lol.

I wish you many more reliable happy miles.
Keep us all posted.

Think of all the other cars with a NA hp/liter close to the S. At first, nothing could match it. Finally decades later, a handful of cars from Ferrari, Porsche can match or even barely exceed it.

Doubtful you'll ever see any of them ever reaching this milestone, or anything remotely close to it.

The maintenance costs for any of them to get to a quarter of this mark would be staggering...

I laugh out loud and grin ear-to-ear when I compare OP's experience- the many, many happy hours of driving enjoyment and engagement he has had with his S, to those nervous nellie's who own low-mileage sports cars of any marque, and who are afraid to drive them for whatever reasons.

Congratulations, sir! Well Done!

That is so true CA! So true. Truly, we have a spectacular machine that is down in the automotive history books as a great legend and it's all thanks to Honda's brilliance. Thinking of this and what you said brings a tear of joy and appreciation to my eye.

Honda makes great vehicles. My MY 2000 Odyssey just rolled over 203K mIles and the '06 Pilot just rolled over 231K miles. I need one catalytic converter for the Pilot, yet that is simple wear and tear for a vehicle with that many miles on it. My S has over 100K on it; bought it in 2010 with 46K on it. These Hondas just keep going.

Thanks for sharing! A few questions:

1. What do you think is the cause if not the rings? Can you elaborate more on this for those of us in the same boat.
2. Did your S always burn oil from the start?
3. Did you replace items like coil packs, starter and fuel pump because they failed or preventative maintenance?
4. Lastly, what kind of preventative maintenance did you do as well, like cleaning IACV, Throttle Body, Coolant?

1. I'm not sure exactly what's causing the increased oil consumption but I suspect carbon buildup in the rings. My bypass filter doesn't filter all the soot out, so it's possible my rings have carbon buildup. I'm contemplating using something to clean this up but I haven't gotten to this. I'd have to do it at an oil change, which is very infrequent.
2. When new, my car burned about 1 quart in 8,000 miles. Oil consumption stayed pretty low for a long time but started to increase at around 200K miles, IIRC.
3. Several of my coil packs went bad at the same time, so I replaced them all. My starter, alternator brushes and fuel pump replacements were all preventative maintenance. I travel long distances and I can't afford to get stranded. Besides, it made sense to get the starter replaced while I was doing a clutch job.
4. I have never cleaned the IACV or throttle body on my car. I never had reason to. I have also never replaced my coolant, however I have dumped and cleaned out the coolant reservoir a few times. I put new iridium plugs in around every 80K-100K miles and I inspect the serpentine belt regularly and replace when I start seeing cracks. I have bled my brake system and clutch system a few times, and change the tranny & diff fluids approximately every 100K miles. Since I do all maintenance myself, this car has been very inexpensive to maintain.
