I made it safely back from my two-week Westerns States trip. I drove through 11 states and British Columbia, visited 12 national parks, and drove on some awesome roads:
http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...955&p=48966652 I'll put together a much larger description of the trip tomorrow and will put many good photos on my web page. Until then, here are a few teaser photos of some of the places I visited. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...955&p=48966656 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...955&p=48966643 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...955&p=48966658 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...955&p=48966649 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...955&p=48966645 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...955&p=48966642 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...955&p=48966640 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...955&p=48966636 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...955&p=48966635 ================ The photos aren't showing up correctly for me when viewing this page right now. I'll figure it out eventually. [Looks like sometimes GeoCities is pickey about capitalization, but not always.] Peek at http://www.geocities.com/srnelson_S2000/SmallPhotos/ to see these photos. ================ Apparently the images don't show until you've visited the GeoCities page directly first. Something about their showing the little advertising banner to all visitors or something like that... ================ Switched to PhotoPoint for these images. Amazing! America is such a beautiful country
On the first picture you're on a somptuous empty road, and I was wondering how fast people drive on this kind of deserted areas? Is it easy to speed or are there cops hidden behind every corner? In Europe this is the kind of road where no police controls ever occur, and you can drive freaking fast. |
great accomplishment !
any problem with the car during the trip ? |
Those pictures are awesome, I am very very jealous especially the picture of the open road through the desert.
I cant wait to see the full history of the trip. You are very lucky, trips like these are once in a lifetime. |
Great pictures. I can't wait to see the rest of them.

I have the web page complete for the first day of my trip. You can view it at:
http://www.geocities.com/srnelson_S2000/Day01.html I intend to write up the whole trip, each day on a separate page and separate pages for each National Park as well. I'll put together a main page with pointers to all of the other pages eventually. I tried calling Ira in Salt Lake City, but got an answering machine and was too busy to check back. I was about half a day behind schedule at that point. I also made two phone calls coming from Vancouver into Washington. I got ahold of Jeff Pitman in Port Angeles, who gave me several good tips of what to see in Victoria (I went to the Butchart Gardens, Jeff), but only got an answering machine when the ferry was coming in, so I missed him when I went to Hurricane Ridge. I also called Robert Cluver (SeattleSilver), but just got an answering machine. Overall, I didn't meet with any other S2000 owners on the trip and only saw two other S2000's the entire time, one the first day and one the last. The car ran perfectly, I didn't meet any police, and I enjoyed the entire trip. I'll leave more notes here as I get more pages completed. Once I get the main page in place, you can just check back there if you're interested in following the whole adventure. |

Very impressive! Reading about your adventure makes us feel somehow like a part of it! I can't wait to see the rest...
