Very cool!! My Dad passed two years ago at age 96. My Mom is still with us at 93. In fact she lives in an in-law apt in my home. Took her for a ride last spring - top down & a few times to 9K - She loved it. Although her mind is not where it used to be, physically she says she doesn't have a pain or ache! In fact she got into and out of the car as easily as I do. God willing we'll go for another ride this coming spring

I didn't know this would become a thread about our best memories of our elders in the S2000, but it's a great topic.

Yup!

This is exactly the kind of topic that I think this subforum was made for. "Discussions related to the S2000, its ownership and enthusiasm for it."

Enjoying the car with our loved ones is certainly right in line with that theme!

Great stories!

A few years ago when my Dad was around 86 and in the early stages of Parkinson's I took him for a mid-winter ride with my hardtop. He had a very tough time climbing in. Butt-first was the only way to get him in.

Lake Geneva (Wisconsin) was frozen over and you could see fishing huts scattered around the bay as we drove past. Knowing the ice was quite thick, I said, "What the heck, let's do it" and I drove out on the lake and spun a few donuts.

My Dad freaked out. He went into a panic. Hands on the dash, he was yelling "STOP! STOP! GET OFF THE ICE!!! This was surprising, because my Dad was the first person to drive me out on the lake when I was a kid. Needless to say he was very relieved when I drove off the ice and back on the road.

When we got back to his house he proceeded to tell everyone about it, like a little kid that just took his first roller coaster ride. You could tell by the way he tells it that he was glad we did it.

A friend of my aunt's was admiring my car one day. She was probably late 60's early 70's. Told me about how much she wanted a silver one when they first came out, but as her and her husband got older, it didn't make sense for them to get one. They both struggled with joint problems at a fairly young age, so it would have made getting in and out very difficult for them.

I was so surprised to see a woman her age that interested in my car.
