It's an added bonus to an already fast sports car...except you have to hit 7,000 RPM's to get it going.

I love the transition of the VTEC how you can feel the car coming into VTEC. Just has to realize that you have to shift because it comes up a lot faster after that.

First time I did it in my S2000 (which is the first time I VTEC'd anything), I was giddy for about a day.

I haven't been the same since.

Mine kicks in at 6500 RPM and when it was new it would kick in at 6000 RPM. I miss fresh V-Tec

Is that normal for it to kick in later in the revs as the car get older?

i dont think vtec ages as the car gets older. its set. you hear vtec because of the lobes on the cams. he probably had a vafc or some sort of engine management that lets you adjust the vtec. usually vtec is changed while tuning, my friend had a delsol b16. he got a piggyback for his ecu(hondata). i remember they had to adjust his vtec (to a higher rpm )to make more power depending on your mods. i really miss that car, i wonder if i have a vid of his car hiting vtec. i dont think an s2 vtec changeover can compare to his. his vtec poped 10x louder than mine and i have cai. i remember driving my gsr hatchback w/ ctr cams, it still cant compare to s2. the s2 sounds cleaner than a dual butterfly manifold which i had on my hatch.

My vtec kicks in at 6000 when it was new, and 6000 now that it's 2 years old.
