Advice on buying AP1
They’re both good cars.
Buy the one you like more. For a street car, at this point, I really don’t think the ownership experience/maintenance is going to be all that different.
I own an early AP1 and have zero interest in an AP2. My AP1 has been very easy on me through 7.5 years of ownership and about 27k miles.

Definitely buy the one that you enjoy more. It is not practical to swap in the F20C (nor does it result in a product close to an AP1) on an AP2. If you really enjoy the edge that the AP1 has, go for it. I do not think you can find that experience on any other car today; outside of early BMW Supras (think they did something with the rear suspension geometry to also induce tons of rear bump steer).
In the same idea, if you enjoy the planted, reduced rotation under braking (which results in less snap oversteer) characteristics, buy the AP2.
All these wear items that are of concern should be factored into the price when you purchase the vehicle regardless of model year or age.
Just be sure to read up on this: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/wheels-t...erous-1216330/ if you purchase an AP1 and decide to keep the OEM wheels and run 245/45R16 REAR 185/60R16 FRONT (or 205/55R16).
