AEM is releasing their brand new Wideband with Gauge in January.
AEM is very shortly releasing a sweet (inexpensive) wide-band that has a gauge type display.
We just placed a huge order for the new AEM wide-band w/gauge display that is shipping the first week in January. We're taking pre-orders now (at clearance pricing) for anyone that is interested. Here's a link with information about the new wide-band... http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/default.as...d=O2KI&BrandCd= http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/imag...LEC_WB_LRG.jpg Take care, Chris. |
What's the difference between the Lambda and the air fuel display?
|
This guage being wideband, does that mean its actually usefull instead of the Xmas tree guage that autometer makes?
|
Any news on when they will release the gauge for the older UEGO owners?
|
I must say, I like the combo of digital readout in the middle and pseudo-analog digital readout around the outside band.

Lamda displays a different number than A:F. I can't remember the ratio or whether it's inversely proportionate. I never use it. You will typically want a gauge that reads the A:F ratio.
Yes, this gauge has the same single channel UEGO wide-band controller from AEM built right into the gauge itself. So the gauge plugs into the wide-band sensor and it heats it up just as the other wide-band controllers do. The Autometer gauge reads off your stock Oxygen sensors that are not accurate under WOT operation. That gauge is worthless imo. The won't be releasing the gauge for the older wide-band controllers anytime that I know of as it is not simply a gauge by itself. Maybe they'll release a separate add on gauge for current UEGO controllers someday but they have no plans for it at the moment. Take care, Chris. |
i'm interested in one.

I much prefer the device at www.plxdevices.com it's much cheaper, and can replace the factory 02 sensor with a wideband (it has a narrowband simulation).

The PLX is a great wide-band. We've tested it and sell them. It is however slightly more expensive. The price you are probably looking at does not include the sensor. The sensor is roughly $200. But it is still a great product and works well with the AEM.
Take care, Chris. |
