Aero screen conversion?
When I first looked at the S2K, I thought that the folded down Aeroscreen was in fact a 3rd brake light (ala fibreoptic/lightpipe design)
Since then I learned that it was really something completely different, but have thought about converting it to serve a dual purpose. With the top up, it would be laid back and produce a 3rd brakelight effect (albeit a thin one) and with the peice up you could either have it switch off automatically, or manually if you wanted some lighting effect (would look great with a red leather interior)
Is anyone familiar with the optical grades on acrylic? Anyone in an industry that would be able to produce an aftermarket peice to replace the stock? (Perhaps even oversized like Rick's)
Just a thought. Since I haven't gotten my S2K yet, I can't even guage the utility of this idea...

if you want to do it, don't use acrylic - in our testing we found that acrylic tends to break into thousands of SHARP pieces when exposed to high energy impacts. although the lexan myself and rick uses are 15-20 times more expensive, it's more than worth the money. polycarbons (lexan) are used for bulletproof glass and such, and it won't shatter into a million pieces.
running a wire to some kind of LED won't be too difficult at all, perhaps rick may be interested?

Well actually I've done this. I was going to wait to post pictures of the finished product, but I'll let yall know what I did and the pictures can come later. First I replaced the stock windscreen with Rick's 7/8 screen with the etched S2000 logo. Then I drilled small holes in the bottom of the screen and put several small white and red LEDs in there. I ran wires out the bottom of the windscreen base into the secret compartment and everything is hidden really well. The finished product works like this. When you turn on the lights in the car, the S2000 logo on the windscreen lights up white and when you hit the brakes the S2000 logo changes to a red glow. It took ALOT of work, but I think its really unique and with all the Silver/Black S2000's here in Houston I wanted something small to set mine apart from the rest.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing with the windscreen. Except I was wanting to have the S2000 logo continuously lit w/ a red light. I'm sure it looks great. Take those pics or let's have an S2000 meet. I think you need to show your fellow brethren the fruits of your labours.
It sounds like you did a really nice job.
