They ask you when quoting how you use the car. It just affects the price you pay for the coverage.

There is no issue with pleasure use on Hagerty we are fine with pleasure use on cars it just cannot be your daily driven vehicle. Using it for your Friday night date night or an occasional weekend get away is not an issue. I am the West Coast Florida territory Manager feel free to reach out to me with any questions! I am happy to clarify any questions you have.

There are no use restrictions in the cars I ensure with them.

They notify me when they think I should adjust the agreed value of my cars. The only one we have done that with is the NSX.

Ok, way less restrictions than thought before. Just no dd.

But can you drive it to work ever?

Can you ever drive it to the grocery store?

I use mine as a 3 season dd. So I know I'm out. But what if I just wanted to use it as my Friday& weekend dd? Drive it for pleasure only on other days, but also use it exclusively on weekends, including drive to work Fridays?

I drive mine to work all the time. They really don’t restrict my use in any of my cars.

Funny story: My ‘66 Lincoln Convertible costs next to nothing to insure. When I purchased my NSX, I asked why it cost twice as much. They lady in the phone said “Sir, with respect, no one wants to steal your Lincoln”.

They have become more lenient over the years on their restrictions. When I talked to them years ago one of the questions I had was if I took my car to the grocery store and it was damaged would they cover it and they didn’t really commit to a yes or no answer but currently I asked the same question and they said they had relaxed some of their restrictions so yes it would be covered and they also said I could take it to work just not everyday.

One thing I didn’t think of that happened was I lost my multi car discount on my regular policy and my premium went up on my daily driver.

While I shouldn't have any issues along those lines, that's certainly worth pointing out. All things considered Hagerty is looking pretty good so far. While I'll need to spend more time really sifting through all of the details it appears that I'll receive better coverage for less money compared to my current policy with State Farm. The one thing that I'll say about State Farm is that whenever we've needed to file a claim (we've had a few things covered by our home policy over the years) they've always had our backs.

I have an application in review, only issues I see is the estimated value has to be greater than $30,000. So I listed 30k and we’re in talks. They are $250 cheaper per year than Allstate. One thing I’m scared of is the reviews online of Hagerty are absolutely horrible, haven’t decided if I want to take the risk. Most reviews claim that they sand bag with document requests, and then deny claims.
