My intention has always been the polar opposite. I want to pull the F20C from an AP1 and throw it into an E30. I WILL at some point complete this goal, but first I need to find out how much an F20C is, find an E30 to do it to, and maybe buy a better car to daily drive in the process... All said and done, I need to make about $10k more before I can do this.

^ interesting, assuming you're referring to a non-M. I used to own an E30 M3, so I'm quite familiar with its pros and cons. I regret selling it every day.

You know the original M motor had ITBs, and throttle response a stock F20 only dreams of? Also, there is a E30 Evo III, with a 2.5L 238hp variant. That would be much more fun, and require much less fabrication.

Anyway, don't get me wrong, I'm not pulling the sacrilege card on you, and I'd love to see you pull it off. I just don't see all the fabrication required being worth it, for what amounts to 2 extra hp, less torque, and no ITBs (compared to a motor designed for that chassis).

1) ignorance by v8
2) got to redline from 1-2-3
3) insane thrill
4) I think i'm going to switch to the dark side

I'd be picking up an E30 318i or is... or some non-M for probably like $1500. I don't need a drivetrain in it, just a roller with no rust, good paint, a decent interior and I want it to be white. Then I'd be throwing in the F20C and tranny, red leather seats from an E46 M, M-Tech II kit, gold BBSs, and all sorts of other little goodies.

Sure, it would probably be easier to source a euro E30 M3 or at least the engine, but those are rare, expensive to import... and they wouldn't be a crazy yet respectable Frankenstein of a vehicle. I could also go the S50/S52 route... but again... it's just not the same.
