Anyone gone from EVO to s2k

I'm toying with the idea of going from the S2k to an EVO 8/9. It'd be nice to downsize my garage and buy just one car I can do everything with (track, daily drive, take on trips, drive in winter, etc) and the EVO seems to fit the bill just right.

Who here has had both an EVO and an s2k and what are your thoughts between the two cars?

I've never had an EVO but I love them my friend let me drive his EVO 9 MR it was a dream, great car.

Friends of mine just went from a VR4 to a brand new Evo X. Great looking car, but I haven't had a chance to ride in it.

I would imagine the Evo is a different beast altogether than the S. Just have to know what you are trading between the two.

I've driven the 8/9 and X.

I've always been a mitsu guy as i've had my GSX's back in the day. Although my S2000 is pretty quick and would pull from heavily modded EVO's, i still would love an EVO just for the same reasons stated. It's an all around car.

I guess if there was that ONE deal where there was an offer i couldn't refuse to jump from the s2k to the evo, I probably would. But that deal would never come.

So i just decided to pay off the S, and buy an evo LOL. which defeats this purpose for the one all around car for you.

But I would probably get the evo.

I went from an STi to an S, which is pretty similar. The Evo will be much faster and more fun if you're trying to go fast in a short amount of time. However, a stock S handles much better than a stock Evo and the drop-top always helps.

I have the s2000 and my brother has an EVO viii. It is a fun car and it handles great. The downside to it though, is that is costs my brother nearly double what it costs for me to maintain my s2000 and my truck. As for track days, you probably won't be getting much faster lap times because my brother and I are always within a second of each other out at the track. So really if you have the money for one then cool, but if not, the s is way easier to take care of in my opinion.

EVO isn't nearly as sexy as S2K. All that matters.

All of the AWD turbo cars lack the great driving feel you get with the s2k. I had a WRX before my first s2k and when I sold that s2k I bought an STI. I had it for 6 months before I sold it for another s2k. While it was faster and roomier and just didn't feel as good. I had nice suspension and tires on the car and it still felt mushy compared to the s2k. Now I will say the Evo has a much better steering rack and a better steering feel. If I was to go back to the AWD turbo route I'd be going for an Evo 9 GSR.

I'd still take an STi over an Evo...I promised myself I'd never buy a Mitsubishi :/

Went from an AP1, to an AP2, to a GRB STi, to a G37, now back to an AP1.

AWD turbo sedans will get boring. Unles you need a car to deal with severe weather, stay with the S2000.

Maintenance is also much more. My previous STi took about 5 quarts of tranny fluid...
