AP1 vs AP2 dyno results
My friend and i dyno tested our s2000 last night. i justed wanted to share our results. I have a bone stock 06 AP2 with 30,000 miles and he has a bone stock 03 AP1 with 35,000 miles, no mods what so ever. We had a total of three pulls each with no fans or blowers pointing at it and temp was about 40 degrees outside.
AP1 pulls:
1st- 200whp,134lbs
2nd- 200whp,134lbs
3rd-203whp,135lbs- this pull is with air box cover off and we also noticed his cat was going bad, he also is in need of a tuneup.
AP2 pulls:
1st- 208whp,143lbs
2nd-208whp,143lbs
3rd-211whp,145lbs- with air box cover off. AP2 had tune up 3 months ago not my daily driver.
We were both very happy with our results and would like to thank Wangs auto and Stickerguy for all there help.
Thanks for reading, new to site as well.

What I think is most interesting is that the cars made more power with the airbox off, since I always hear how taking it off DECREASES power. I guess the conventional wisdom is incorrect on that one, since both your cars showed clear increases in power in an objective test.

I don't know for sure either way what you would see in that case, but if a person wants to run an open airbox, you are probably better off with relocating the air filter with something like a AEM intake or something.

i've always wondered this about dyno + gears.
so i have 4.77 gears. i should have the same hp
but.... what if i entered the same oem gears spec into the dyno as a stock ap2... and then get on the dyno, wouldn't the result tell me how much diff in power it is sending to the wheels?
am i making sense? how is my logic flawed? please explain
