If you are going to keep tracking or autocrossing it, buy the parts, put them on the shelf. Later when you are not doing that stuff with it, put them on the car. In the meantime just doe whatever quick fix to it. My friend just got brand new fender liners late last year so some of that stuff at least is still available. Just go on Majestic Honda or Amayama and start searching

They might be now, but no one knows for how long. I'd grab a set while you can and stick them away in the garage.

I look at it this way. There is no amount of joy from looking at my pretty car or from preserving its value that could come even close to the joy I get from autocrossing it or taking it to the track. So if shit happens to it, so be it. 100% worth it. I would rather be 90 years old reminiscing about that super fast lap, those fun times out at autox events with my friends, that time some stupid thing happened on track or course, etc than sitting there looking at my shiny car that I preserved all those years and never really went out and enjoyed. So I say just get the new parts if you can and stick em on the shelf and keep running the hell out of the car When I smacked the wall with mine, me and my friend were literally planning when I realistically would have it fixed and back out on track next while we were dragging it onto my trailer. And when he did the same thing the next season, was the same in reverse. Glad you are getting out there and enjoying the car for what it is. It is way too fun skip out on!

Engi,
im right there with you. Fast cars aren’t fun driven slow. But slow cars driven fast are a hoot.

the S isn’t very fast but I love driving it hard. I love that it’s super analog. I’ve driven 2 Porsches this week and I don’t think either could replace my S. If I ever get rid of it I know I will miss it dearly.

what is even better is when the slow car is so much faster in the corners that it still outruns the fast car You wanna really frustrate people in high priced cars, do a track day at a short course, which has very short straights. I have had multiple very high priced car owners walk over and ask me what turbo I had on my s2k after sessions because they could not keep up. They were quite surprised to learn it is not boosted at all . At that same facility, me and my friend, who is a great driver, were glued together, same lap times repeatedly with him in his Z06 and me in the S2k. On a larger track he would have increased the gap on each straight for sure.

But yeah, longer straights are a bit boring in the s2000.

Me chasing the Z06 on said short course. I have autocrossed with him for years and he has done plenty of track days in that car so is fun to chase around. We had another session where he started behind me and it was the same story, just stayed right with each other. This was pretty much the last laps on that clutch too. I was up in MN for work and took the car to go run TNIA with my old friends up there and glad I trailered it as it barely made it back on the trailer Shifting was getting tough here as the clutch did not wear out all the way, but rather started coming apart, and chunks started getting stacked and preventing full disengagement on the last session so I babied it back onto my trailer. Somehow it was not slipping at that point though!

I feel that damage in my soul. Alas, I too have resigned to my fate of tracking/autocross and have taken up the power of the zip-tie.
