Default Bent bristles where the soft top goes down

I can't find the name for this part, so I'll try to describe it. When the soft top is lowered, you can see a brush-like or set of bristles that seem designed to sweep off the part of the frame as it lowers on either side of the car, just behind either door. I'd describe this better but I am looking to buy a used S so don't have one in front of me to describe.

I was looking at a 2007 and saw that these bristles are BENT...perhaps the roof had been stored in the down position for months on end. Is this normal? I'm surprised to see it in such a recent MY car. Perhaps they were just bent because the top was down, but it seems to have cleared them, so they should have popped back up.

It made me wonder about the condition of the car, since I didn't notice this on other used ones I'd seen.

I've had this on both of my S2000's, and have noticed it on many others. So yes, it's normal.

Mine has the bent bristles. I wouldn't worry about it.

The bristles are not there to "sweep" anything off, they are just a low-tech way to cover up the opening. They do get a little out of whack after a while, but it's no big deal.
