Which do you think would handle better in winter?

1997 Honda Accord fwd, all season tires, and no ABS or

2002 Honda S2000 rwd, winter tires (blizzak)


This information isn't going to change anything, but I thought it would be an interesting question.

I think an S2000 with Blizzaks handles about as well as a 4x4 with all season tires.

I would rock either.

The S2 would be more fun in the right hands, but the accord would be a piece of cake to use in those conditions.

I think we need to qualify the term "handling" for a winter driven car in that it is to be used for driving through snow, ice, slush or a combination of these, where ground clearance is not a limiting factor.
*Also, when using the term "snow tires", I mean the most aggressive snow tire that can be had in appropriate sizes for any given vehicle (NOT "performance" snow tires).
**All 4 tires are the same. Putting only snow tires on the drive wheels changes the equation.
In order of best handling to worst handing:
1. 4 X 4 with locking diffs and locking transfer case AND snow/mud tires.
2. AWD with snow tires.
3. FWD with snow tires.
4. S2000 with snow tires.
5. AWD with all season tires.
6. FWD with all season tires.
7. S2000 with all season tires.
8. S2000 with SO2s.

I had a 98 Prelude with all-season tires and have an S2000 with performance snow tires and the S has waaay more traction and control.

I had a Civic with all-season tires, and I prefer the S2000 with Blizzaks.
