Default Brake Calipers

I'm going to switch out my brake pads and I was wondering if I need a special tool(hex key) to remove the calipers? Thanks!

You don't need to remove the caliper to replace the pads, they just swing up out of the way of the pads. You will not need any "special" tools, just good old metric wrenches/sockets.

The one tool I would say is not optional is a torque wrench for the wheel nuts. The design of the Honda relies on the wheel nuts to be torqued evenly. If the 5 nuts are not even it will promote rotor warp. Get a torque wrench if you don't have one already.

Yes, you will need a tool of some sort. You'll find this little cube in any auto-parts store:

It's designed to rotate the rear piston, but I find them to be almost worthless.

A lot of people just use square shaft screwdrivers or something similar. There are also custom tools like the set here designed for the job.

also pick up a C-clamp to push in the front piston, makes it much easier.

yeah, a c-clamp and the old pad work great to compress the front. flat head large screwdriver should work on the back.

What is the torque amount for the wheel nuts?
