Default Brand new S2000 OEM hardtops

I've stumbled upon a website last night that is selling OEM hardtops for our cars. Although I don't know about the integrity of this shop, they seem to be popular with the MR2 platform. I'm assuming that they must have stumbled across a goldmine of OEM hardtops.

Prices seem to vary color to color. To see Moon Rock Metallic on that list, I think its safe to say that these hardtops were all imported to NA recently.

I am in no way affiliated with the shop or advertising for them. Just passing along some information that might be useful to some owners.

Slight correction, the site lists them as "Used". Looks like they're collecting them, guessing off craigslist, and trying to sell for bit of a mark-up.

Oh, correct. That makes this a little less enticing then. Nothing to see here folks, just some overpriced hardtops.

I believe someone on s2ki has already purchased through them. And they are overpriced. Maybe its just me, but after owning an OEM hardtop, why would anyone want to spend near $4k on one when a brand new FRP authentic Mugen can be had for exact same price if not even cheaper?

Asking top dollar for used tops "free of major damage, with the exception of light scratches and/or chips unless stated otherwise"

Wow.

My guess is they're importing them from the UK/Europe where used hardtop prices are still very reasonable, at least that's what I would do.

Probably because tiny, polycarb rear windows are aids on street car and some race people are locked into hardtops that are OEM equivalent for classing reasons.

Definitely not by comparing it to overpriced car parts. Apples to cans of Mountain Dew.
