Default bumper plugs suck!..... in my opinion

so my plugs finally come in and they were not what I expected. They look and feel a little cheap and the texture does the match my car very well. Anyways, on top of that I start to press them in and my front license plate mounts happen to be loose so I cant even put the bumper plugs all they way on!! looks like Im going to have to just fill in the holes.

I tried sticking my hand down behind the bumper cover to hold the threaded nuts in place. I couldn't quite reach. Maybe a kid could do it though.

Your only other option is to take off the bumper cover. It's not that hard--it would probably take you 1/2 hour.

Reading threads like this makes me feel dumber, how do you people use normal household appliances on a daily basis?

If you have a better solution to the problem, then say so. Otherwise you're just wasting bandwidth.

I have never had a problem over the past four years. No complaints here.

I've never used the butt, I mean bumper plugs. So, I cannot comment on their quality. I have only had problems with the threaded inserts falling out of the bumper. If there is a problem with the texture or color of the plugs, then perhaps you could paint over them with some touch-up paint from the dealer.

There is nothing hard about taking off the front license plate or "plugging" in the bumper plugs which could be the cause of non oem products or operator error, nor did I intend to imply anything of the sort. I was only stating that I was unhappy with the plugs that I bought (they are oem, from handa accesories) because of the grain-like texture, the license plate mounts probably got loose over time, so they will be tightened. (my first time even touching the front plate since I've only had the car for a month or so.) Sorry for the lack of clarity in my original post. Most people are probably happy with the oem bumper plugs, but I felt that the texture of the plastic did not match and would have preferred a smooth surface and rubber material to match the car better. Didn't even think I would get more than two replies from my little rant.

Just add a little bit of clear household silicone to the plugs and put them in. I had to do that to one because it was a little loose and it has been holding for 8 months without a problem
