Second, everyone is trying to speculate on car value hoping they are the next E30 M3 or aircooled Porsche. The S2000 has been very slowly appreciating over the past five years, and it will continue to do so. Not that long ago you could get a very clean AP2 from a dealer for 14k.

Z4Ms are more reasonable than the Z3M. I've owned two 07 Imola coupes so far, one brand new and one a year or so back. EAG is cancer, they are hoarding a lot of the nice cars and driving prices up. 200k for an E30 M3? okay.
Funny you mention the Air Cooled 911, I had a really nice 88 Coupe about 15 years ago so I was thinking of getting another, the prices are absolutely insane right now. I loved my G50 Coupe, but they not worth close to what they are currently going for, at least not to me. The 993 went through this and has since settled down. Old Turbo's are insane also, the funny thing is the old 911 Turbo's are not good driving cars at all. I agree about EAG.

I do not think the S2000 will appreciate like the air cooled porsches, but I agree they do not make cars like this any longer so it should hold or appreciate slowly, all new cars have FI.

I have a 2004 that turned over to 16K miles today. I've avoided all after market changes to maintain value. I want so badly to do upgrades. I think I bought the wrong car.

Maybe you bought the right one and just need a second one to fulfill your MOD needs? Worked for me.

Mod away, just understand they do not add value. Go back to stock and expect about 50 cents on the dollar for mods when you sell the car. As long as you go in knowing that it's all good.
