The friction point seems to be moving higher and the pedal feel is changing. The travel to the floor is not as smooth and almost feels a bit sticky when fully depressed. It still grips ok though. Has anyone gone much more than 61k miles before changing the clutch?

Will it start to slip very gradually or suddenly. I will likely get the clutch package from hartopguy for 899.00. Has anyone had problems with this package? Do I need to buy anything not included in the package?
I have just hit 60,000 miles on my original and it feels just as strong as the day I drove it off the lot with 2 miles on it 4 years ago. Change your fluids and recheck.

Can't tell you by experience in this car yet but I think 80k is normal for a reasonably driven vehicle. This clutch is very weak so slipping it by doing a clutch drop will take some miles off of it quick. I think 60k isn't awful but then again you coulod just be getting it in your head that it could go on you. Typically you'll definatly know when it's going to go, you won't be asking us then.

First you should try changing the clutch fluid. It's pretty easy and makes a huge difference. I was recently thinking I needed a new clutch at 32k miles, but with new Honda fluid and a good bit of flushing it feels brand new! Engagement point is better and everything. There's only a small amount of fluid in this system, and it seems to get dirty/used up pretty quick. I found that by pumping the pedal many times really got some black gunk out of there, probably really gumming up the slave cylinder. It's all smooth now, so much better I can't believe it. Only $4 too!! ( I ran most of the bottle through)

It's my first manual car, but i do know how to drive a manual. I've just noticed that my clutch engagement has gotten alot smoother since i bought it. I've noticed it awhile ago and figured thats just the clutch breaking in and so forth. But now the gear engagements seems a little too smooth. I guess i could just be over analyzing it, but something just seems not right, especially when everyone is talking about 30K-60K clutch replacements and mine is only at 15K.

Next time my group meets, I'll just have other S2k owners drive and get their opinion on whether or not i'm crazy or not. Thanks for the help though.

For the record the fluid cahnge helped lots, I now have 74k, thinking about a clutch change soon. Not because of slipping but I am sick of babying it. The htg package will be a welcome breath of fresh vroom.

my car has the act clutch kit with toda flywheel and recently it has been feeling alot softer and not as smooth..(clutch use to be pretty damn stiff) but now itsalmost dry feeling, sometimes more than others but it hasnt felt the same. Does it sound like i need a fuel change? O i do not abuse the clutch either and the clutch doesnt have much miles at all.
