there's a grade school a couple blocks from my house. can't go by the school without some young kids shouting "nice car, mister". it seems to me that either kids have a more natural appreciation for it or possibly that they are just more open in communicating it. all i know is that i went thru 45 years of deferred gratification before getting my 01 and that i feel like a kid every time i drive it. it was definitely worth waiting for.

Yesterday, actually.

"That's a badass car you have."

Some guy at my gym.

The funny part was I had driven it the two days before, but not that day.

All the time! From...

Gas station attendents (always say the car is beautiful)
School girls (the way they look at it... which I really enjoy)
Chicks in general
Fellow motoring journalists (They should know)

I get compliments quite often. One of the funnier ones was from a long time Honda salesman, who had NO CLUE that it was a Honda. When I told him it was in fact a Honda, and that they made the car for roughly 10 years, he looked at me like I was lying my ass off!! He kept telling me that he had been selling Honda's for 15 years, and that he had never heard of that model, EVER!! I asked him how well the selling was going when he didn't know his brands model line!?! He just turned around and walked off. . . .

Now , I understand that a salesperson for a car company may not know the EVERY model that has been produced and sold, but come on, the last model year for these cars was 3 years ago!

Assuming he meant the last 15 years, during 11 of his 15 years, it was available.

New car dealerships are horrible and should be eliminated. Sales should be direct to consumer from the factory. I don't want to go too far off-topic, so I won't rant, but I'll leave a nice link for you.
