Default Comptech Catback + Rick's Header

is this a good combo or am I better off going with the header and exhaust from Comptech....i like the fact that the heatshields could be mounted back on...i'd like to have the lower parts of the header covered, but leave the part where the manifold bolts into the motor exposed....that's something that can't be done with the comptech one....idealy it would be cool to have a full comptech system, but the Rick's header is attractive because of the price and other reason listed above....can the Rick's header and Comptech catback be combined or would my S be better tuned with the Comptech header and catback....and also will any of these affect the catalytic converter...is there piping between header and cat or is the stock header all one piece up to cat...i know stupid question, but i wanna make sure...i'm not familiar with exhaust systems and am still convinced that i will need to have the car re-tuned after installing the whole system.

any suggestions....anyone have either or both...pleas comment....thanks in advance!!!!

Running Rick's header,(or is it Headers... )with a Comptech catback, and a Megan test pipe,in lieu of the cat.
And all heatshields bolted back on.
I think,it's a good combo.

I'm guessing Rick's header is the same for the AP1 and AP2...the exhausts systems changed so why didn't the header....this makes me think the Rick's header over...

The exhaust systems changed slightly, but the only differences are hanger design/placement and the rear bumper cutouts for the exhaust tips. Most companies don't make a different header for the AP2 as they bolt up the exact same. In a perfect world for max power there would be a different header, but its just not worth the additional R&D costs and time for the 1-2 hp max gain by designing a new header. As far as I know, the only company making seperate headers for the AP1 and AP2 is Mugen, but I could be wrong.

Comptech exhaust + Rick's header is a great idea.

Comptech header and catback V.S. Rick's header and Comptech catback

which combo weighs more and which combo will make more power........not that i'm looking for much gain...the S is perfect powerwise, but hearing a little more feedback in all gears would be nice....i'd like a little more sound, and weight saving would be nice.

does anyone know how much weight I would be saving :

OEM header V.S. Rick's header/ Comptech header
OEM exhaust V.S. Comptech catback
