Default convert seats

just thought of this idea but is there any way we can purchase a passenger seat and convert it into a driver seat with one that is not so nice?

i have noticed that always a passenger seat has less wear on it then a driver seat and thus makes them easier to come by used in good condition.

any ideas?

You can swap the cushions. I don't know otherwise.

how difficult is to simply swap out the cushions. This seems to be the best solution for a worn out driver seat IMO.

Wouldn't the seat belt buckle be on the wrong side, along w/ that seat belt guide near the headrest?

^yes thats why we would need to do the conversion along with the rails i presume.

i like the idea to simply rebase the padding of the seat onto the original driver seat frame. How can this be done???

Get a service manual.

It looks as if you could swap the seat covers (the center sections), which are presumably the wear parts. In the manual, there are several pages of pictures on the seats and how to replace the covers. HPH

I find that the side bolsters are usually the most worn areas of the seats, not the center preferated parts.

I converted my JDM s2k seat for my Integ. You could swap the seat cushions. you ahve to remove the brackets and sliders.

Its not hard. cause its jsut one bolt and a nut on each side that holds the seat cushion in place.

Also you may want to convert your seat pans. the reason is that the driver side (well on my JDM S2K seat) there is a metal support that is welded on and goes up into the side bolster of the cushion.

If you swap the passenger with teh driver then the support will be against the center console. kinda pointless.

so swap the seat pans.
