Default CR more acceptable now vs. its introduction?

Was just looking through old threads and came across this:

Unhappy CR Introduction

lots of unhappy s2000 owners here regarding the CR's introduction.

what's the consensus now? any thoughts or opinions?

Just like anything new with the s2000 everyone will hate for a while then accept it. For example, v2 wheels are soo ugly v1 is better.. v3 wheels are soo ugly v2 is better, ap1's are better car then ap2, ap2 base is a better car then ap2 CR... Must I continue.

I liked the CR when it came out. Wanted one in GPW, but could never find one. Oh well. Maybe it's hint that I should move on from the S.

Same thing with the BMW 7-series. It was considered seriously ugly when Bangle introduced the new design (and people still bash Bangle) but the M3 that everybody loves these days still uses the same design cues.

I suspect the Honda Crosstour will go the same way - it's popular and cool to bash it right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out the be really successful in the real world. Talking to a friend who sells Hondas, he's getting a lot of calls from people interested in this car.

Anyway, these days, my impression is that the CR is generally respected and appreciated in the S2000 community.

I think many have moved on from the bitching about the ugly add ons. It doesn't mean they have come to like it, it means we are just beating a dead horse.

In my experience, part of it is that many people are surprised at how Apex Blue looks in person. Nothing like the original pictures.

re. Mulder - That is freaking hilarious!
