I've been looking at some pics of painted STOCK calipers, and noticed this.....


Notice square indentations just below "s2000" logo (4 total)

only (2) at the very bottom on this one...

oh yeah, by "?" i meant, yeah...why are they different

 

I could be wrong but I think they are the same, but the owner may have done a little more grinding on to make it less noticeable.

 

The one that doesn't have it is mine. I painted them about a year ago, and cannot recall if I grinded that portion of the casting or not. I know that I did try to smooth the majority of the casting, so it is possible that I removed it.

 

I have an 02 and mine look like the bottom picture, there are little changes throughout the car from 00-03, especially if you bought the car overseas, i.e. the oil injector bolts were put in the s2ks sold overseas before the ones here.
