Other difference Canada Vs US: brake warning light is a pictogram (to meet bilingual requirement) North of the border and reads "BRAKE" South of the border. Easiest way to tell the two apart.

More nonsense (original post). 2.0 liter AP2 engines? All cars with 2.0 engines are AP1s. It's the engine code in the VIN.

Ap1/ap2 is the chassis code not an engine code... Japan had the ap2 in 04-05 with f20 engine... Europe never got the f22 so all they're ap2's had a f20...

No - if it comes from the factory with an F20C then it is an AP1 - irrespective of the year. For example in Australia we had the F20c for the entire cycle (1999 - 2009). All VIN's are AP1.

I know it's confusing based on common usage mainly because the majority of the cars are USDM. It may be called a chassis code in the generic Honda VIN sequence but it ain't in the S2000. It's the engine code. All 2004 and later cars have the same chassis regardless of market. But the only the cars with the 2.2 liter engine cars have AP2 in their VIN -- because they have the AP2 engine. They're the only AP2s.

But I await a photo of any original S2000 with the 2.0 engine and AP2 in the VIN. :)

Instead of moaning how about you write some articles then?

Chuck S 06-22-2017 12:20 PM

We don't need articles. Certainly not ones that are nonsense.

I agree to an extent that users shouldn't whinge if they're not contributing, but on the flip side I think no articles are better than incorrect articles when they're posted as headliners of the forum.
