Differential Fluid - Mobil 1

My interval for tyranny is daily, my bro.
For trans and diff fluid intervals, I would just read the manual. Probably every 30K miles.
I'm sure you're fine to do it early too.

75W-110 Amsoil in an AP2, diff is whisper quiet, no weird whine. If you don't track the car, I think mobil 1 75w-90 is fine, many people use it here. I tried 75W-140 Amsoil before, but I found I get slightly worse gas mileage with it. Switched to 75w-110, didn't notice any weird noise/whine, and been using it since.

Differential oil spec is GL5 SAE 90 Hypoid Gear Oil. SAE changed the 90 grade spec after our cars went out of production splitting it in half. The top half of the old 90-grade is now 110-grade so a multi-grade 75W-110 oil is my choice without being too thick. I'm not completely up to speed on the Torsen differential but believe too heavy a grade will adversely affect how it works. Anyone?
I'm using Amsoil 75W-110 in the differential this time. Get it in bags if you can as the little bottle pumps don't fit on the bottles. I got it in but it took more attention to detail than I like.
The drain plug magnet was almost spotless with the LE-1605 that was in there for a couple of years.

Chuck, I have over 150k miles on our '06 S and all I've used is M1 75/140 or a 50/50 mix of M1 75/90 and 75/140. I got no difference in gas mileage, rear end whine(have none) or how the rear end puts power down in a corner. Our rear end runs hot because the S doesn't have a large fluid reservoir to help cool the gear lube. Now my wife and I do take long drives at high speed and I don't think I'll change the rear lube before 100k miles. We went 90k miles last time and the magnetic drain plug was clean as can be, no fuzz just nice and clean. What I put in my pumpkin works for me and I see no reason to switch to another brand or weight because of how clean the drain plug was at every drain. I'm on my 4th change with M1(in 150k miles), after I got temp readings of how hot my rear end got on our long drives I just went with M1 75/140.
Rod
p.s. we just got back from a 8300 mile trip in the S and as usual the S ran great from sea level to 12,200 ft.

Reminds me of a girl I dated. I have always used M175w90 and just like Rrounds have had no problems. I happen to change every spring because I can. I notice Mr Billman also uses M1 75w90 and says no issues have been noted from that.
