Don't know where you got that information from, can't even get it as an option but there is one Japanese performance tuner that makes a CF airbox for us though the pricing is not cheap as well. Don't know about how good it is for shaving weight but I doubt it's bad.

that cover is really nice, but i'm not sure it is worth the 300-400 dollars it costs.

When I recieve my CAI from Mingster I plan to use FoliaTec's carbon fiber wrap. It is real carbon fiber where you can lay it in your interior or whatever. I plan to wrap my airbox cover with it. By the way, it retails for around $110. Latez!
