Downshift Rev match
Hi guys, :hello:
Just want to get everyone's experience on this real quick I normall blip the throttle 1k rpm while rev matching from 6th to 5th, 5th to 4th, or 4th to 3rd. However, when revmatching from 3rd to 2nd, I actually need to blip harder, if that makes any sense, to rev match ... how about everyone else? I have a MY05 if that helps. |
I think it has to do with the ratio of each gear. It is quite normal. I do it in my car all the time.
|
It's due to the gear ratio as stated above.
The larger the difference between the two ratios, the larger the difference in RPM will need to be. 1st gear - 3.133 2nd gear - 2.045 3rd gear - 1.481 4th gear - 1.161 5th gear - 0.942 6th gear - 0.763 |
yeah the ratios have to deal with it. the lower the gear youre shifting in its a higher rpm you have to rev to i think. when im going 30 in 3rd and downshifting to 2nd i have to rev to a bit above 4k.
|
you have to redline it if you go from 2nd to 1st.......
j/k..... |
Thanks for all the inputs
I thought it was weird at first. |
Yeah it was like that my Prelude also. I was never able to do a smooth/fast rev match to 2nd gear. I feel like a lighter flywheel would take care of it.
|
you could double clutch if you have time
|
^oh yeah! hmm good point.
|
i double clutch 2-3 shift, 3-2 shift, 5-6 shift and sometimes when its cold, 1-2 shift.
unless im having fun :D revving high seems to make the shifts go in easy. |
