As a drift car, how well do you think the s2k does at being one?

Yeah, because an AE86 is just a torque monster.

Who are you people??? The S2000 can be an awesome drift machine with little modification. Most RWDs with LSD can. You might consider adding more negative camber in the rear with just a tad more toe in. Try swapping out your rear sway bar for a stiffer one as well. Anyway good luck and be SAFE!!!!

Last i checked the AE86 was several hundred pounds lighter then an S, so it didn't need to make that much torque.

I don't see any reason why drifting would be hard on a clutch or differential. I'm not in to drifting, but it doesn't take abusive drivetrain usage to drift a corner.

I went to a drifting competition in the S. It can be more challenging than other cars. To really whip out the back at low to moderate speeds, you have to pop the clutch or even double clutch with foot on the gas. Because the VTEC doesn't engage until almost 6,000 RPM it is challenging to hit it "just right". It was my first attempt at a drifting competition so I am not claiming to be an expert. It IS hard on the clutch and other parts. My conclusion is that while drifting can be fun, there are other cars that are better suited. You will note that the movie above is HIGH SPEED drifting. Lots of cars can do that. This is not what happens at competitions. Normal drifting is slower.

Just shift from first into second while gunnin it in a turn . If you don't spin it around and kill yourself you'll drift . Scared the livin' S@#$ out of me. It was a dumb ass thing to do I pulled it out like a champ but damn I nearly crapped myself . Worst thing was when I brought my hand up from the shift to grab the wheel I hit the wiper blades. That's makes you feel like an idiot. I know those damn blades where laughing at me.
