Dyno results
 

I have a stock 2000 S2K with 25K miles on it. Recently I went to a local perfomance shop to dyno my car to see my base line numbers. The first pull was a 212whp, 2nd was a 214whp and the 3rd i removed the air filter top which yielded the 218.4. I did that just to see how it effected the power output. I know in real life that taking off the top will have a negative effect due to pulling hot air in. You can also see how it effected the AFR.

This is a dyno dynamics dyno as you can see. These numbers really surprised me, I was expecting below 200rwhp.

ya thats definetly high. Maybe an optimistic dyno

those dyno's do tend to read a bit higher.

standard or sae i dont see it anywhere on the chart

Im not sure if the dyno is in SAE or standard. Although the guys at the shop said that almost all the S2K's dyno in the 190-200rwhp range.

There are so many factors that are involved.

That dyno type does tend to be a little optimistic.

The humidity level and air temperature can make a big difference.

The engines tend to have a 3% + or - depending on the car. and yours may just be on the higher end of that.

calibration could have been off, but not likely

I have an 04 and on a mustang dyno I got 206 rwhp

generally speaking dynopacks read the highest, then dynojets, then dyno dynamics/mustang dyno's

218 on a DD would be probably be 235whp on a dynojet

then again like aforementioned differences in dyno calibration, temperature, elevation etc all influence the number.

dyno numbers don't mean anything anyways unless you're comparing before/after mods to see the delta. only way to see how much power you really have relative to your vehicle weight through the gearings is to see what it traps at the 1/4 mile...a good track, not one like LACR which robs your ET and trap
