Enclosed Trailer Shippers
#21
I moved my S2000 from Cleveland to Richmond last September. About $500. Small enclosed trailer like you'd haul a race car in but so small I had to retract the roof to get out of the car after driving it aboard. Retired CDL driver with a his large pickup and his trailer. Brokered via Montway. Worked fine. Driveway to driveway. Sample of one. If I didn't need to move my travel trailer too I'd have put the car on a Uhaul trailer and brought her down myself. Saved me a round trip or airfare flying back for her.

A broker like Montway will often quote low and then add extra fees. They can hold your car hostage if you don't pay the extra fees.

I ended up going with Reliable. They have been great to work with so far. Quick responses and communications. They picked the car up 11 days ago in the nick of time right before we ended up with a foot of snow! Car should arrive in FL today in fact!

I used Motorsport 22 to transport my S up from Cali when I bought it. They are great to work with and privately owned with all enclosed transport.

It looks like I'll be going with Reliable Carriers.

I was expecting a trailer like the Reliable pictured. Got a one car trailer instead. All worked out though and the car came straight thru from my old to new house since there were no other cars to deal with.
30 years ago a buddy shipped his nearly derelict 1967 Shelby GT350 to a restoration shop on one of these nice semi-trailers. Trailer was full of (real) exotics and almost embarrassing to put the Shelby on board. Not so when she returned a year later. He bought the car new and drove it for years (and a couple paint jobs) before he decided to have it restored. Still has it to my knowledge.
