engine oil question.
hi
sometimes a number is wirtten with the name of the brand of the engine oil.. take as an example ( Agip 3000) ( BP 2000) do those numbers mean something? do they infer of the kelometers or miles that they should run before changing the oil ? or what? im worried about that bcz in our dealer they use agip3000 for our S2000s in every 5000 kelometers... does that mean im driving my car 2000kelos more than what my oil is capable of??? please help:what: |
Isn't Agip a Nigerian oil company?
BP is also an oil company. |
The numbers after BP and Agip are probably just a name for that type of oil. Like Mobil 1
|
They're just names. For example, the oil I use right now is Motul 300V, or something like that. It has no meaning. What matters is the viscosity, and mine's 5w-40. :)

aha.. thats what i thought at first.. but one of my friends insisted that the numbers mean how much kelometers!
