ARE EXOTICS MORE FUN TO DRIVE THAN THE S?
Actually, if you look at the end of his original thread, you'll see why he started a new one. That one strayed a little.
Here's my really quite worthless take (the best car I've ever driven is either my OLD E36M3 or my S2000 - my knowledge of exotics comes only from reading and TeeeeVeee). Fun to drive is relative, there are 1/4 mile fanatics who run the Englishtown strip "one 1/4 mile at a time" while I'm autocrossing next door 40 seconds a run. We both probably have = amounts of fun. As such, neglecting those who buy exotics for mere prestige value, there are those who love a car that both exudes distinction, as well as having performance values well beyond the S.
It appears that in many cases, these values come into play on a faster circuit/environment. Just taking a slow corner in the S2000 is fun as it's very tossable - it would be the same in a Miata - perhaps more so. Many an exotic - heavy lamborginis come to mind, would be boring in those situations. Get on a faster road, with faster (but challenging) turns, I don't mean highways, and you will start to see the exotic come into it's own.
Again, from the perspective of one who has never driven an exotic, I suspect that the only issue with those cars is the extremely high limits that require phenomenal skill to really exercise. This is why there are folks who find a Miata for example, more exciting than an S2000 (or certainly my M3). Where I'm yawning in the M3, the Miata driver is grinning ear to ear. When I'm smiling (perhaps grimacing with focus is a better way to put it) in the M3 - the Miata driver may be backing off - over his cars limits.
This was a ridiculously long dissertation to simply say that the exotics and S2000s generally operate in a different performance envelope. Think F15 vs. F16 (F15 being exotic and F16 being S2000). That's how I view my M3 vs. my S2000 - though the M3 is hardly an exotic - but it is heavier and enjoys/is more comfortable in the high speed stuff more so than the S, yet the S can out turn it down low.
I know - I can't spell Lambo<blah>. I'm really not into the car anyway - way to cumbersome, but the Gallardo looks interesting.

yes but this thread is totally pointless - it all depends on the driver, driver skills, driver preferences. If the s2K more fun to drive than the S so what? If not, so what? The answer is so simple, when is any car over 300hp not fun to drive if you are not scare to use the power.
i ask the question cuz i'm a stupid kid and have nothing better to do than type pointless crap on your precious forum. i'm 2 yrs old and just learned to hit the keyboard. jeez, what is with the new year that has made all the jerks come out? and to call the question irrelevent, i don't know what you're smoking. the original thread was too general and wasn't focused enough for the high standard of this board. so i asked it in a more focused way. delete it if it is so pointless. you guys ask in a hundred reiterations how the 04 and the pre 04 compare, but my question is the stupid one.
obviously the question in subjective, but as in science, if you see enough commonality, you can begin to form a generally subjectively correct response.
