Default Falling S2K Prices

Just looking through todays Boston Sunday Globe and see a couple of dealers offering new 2001's for $29,700. One dealer in Weymouth Ma. has 6- 2001's and 2 new 2000's. Don't know what they'll accept for a 2000 yet but they told me they're ready to talk. I think they're anticipating a long cold winter.

Prices always dip as the weather cools but you know they will have to discount the '01 several thousand. Anyone that knows will go for the glass window and other revisions in the '02.

Must be the warm Texas weather here, because people have seen 10 used S2000's in the paper, the cheapest for $33k, and several new ones on the showroom listed for over $40k.

My dealer here in Northern Virginia has a Yellow 01 priced at 38K. Just two weeks ago they had the same car priced at 35K... what? can't sell it so raise the price?

I was at my local Honda dealer this weekend. They sold a 2002 blue one for $34000+ (sales guy I talked to didn't have exact number) and still wanted a few hundred over MSRP... I suppose there are still some unsespecting people out there.

A friend of mine (who was car shopping over the weekend) reported seeing a very-low-milage 2000 S2000 at a Honda dealership for $32k here in St. Louis. And it was white/red (not the most sought after color combo).

I also saw a low mileage 2000 S2000 for sale this weekend. They were asking $32.5 and were willing to negotiate. Anyone need a nice '92 Accord EX Coupe with 71K miles? I think it's time to start shopping. The weather and the economy are perfect for convertible buying.

Carmax in DC dropped these prices $2k about three weeks ago. This car here is now selling there for 28,995. A year ago I paid (there) 30,800 for a 2000 with 6k.
