Finding a previous owner?
Anyone know of a way to discover a previous owner of your S2000? I found his registered location via Carfax and posted an ad in Craigslist for that area asking him to make contact, but that's the extent of my bright ideas. My car has a fair amount of mods and not having other S2000's around with which to compare, it's tough to get a baseline for what's what, especially when talking ECU changes and other stuff you can't easily see.
On the off chance this guy's on this forum, he would've owned the car between 2006 and 2014. It's a Suzuka Blue 2002, pic's in my gallery.

Thanks a ton, energy88. I didn't find mine there, but I added it. I'll also see if I can find any other owners in/near my location...having another S2K to look at would be valuable in seeing what's been changed on mine.
Did you buy the car from the previous owner that your trying to find?
look in the glovebox and secret compartment for an old registration card? When you transferred the title into your name it would have had the previous owners name and address on it. You should be able to find at least the most recent previous owner and go backwards from there.

You're car is a 2002, what do you mean by ECU changes? Instead of tracking down the original owner; you can post pictures of your car on these forums and people can easily tell what is original and what has been changed.
Replying to Alivinglegend and Gotpepsi, I purchased the car from a used car dealer. The Carfax gives the location and dates of previous registrations, but no actual owners names. Privacy issues, I'm sure. Looked through all the secret compartments...no paperwork.
As for ECU changes, I assume you can reflash chips and/or reprogram functions like shift points and such, can't you? That's what I was referring to. The exhaust from the engine back is all aftermarket, to the best of my limited knowledge, so I don't know whether there are requirements to change programming of the air/fuel mixture or what when you do such a thing. My mechanical knowledge is pretty good, but it's largely related to motorcycles...cars are a new thing for me.

Thanks for the reply, b Goetz. I had to Google VAFC... sounds like a Power Commander from my motorcycle days. It could have one...I don't know enough yet to recognize it, especially since I haven't even looked for the ecu yet.
Thanks for the Ohio tip. I've reached out to one of the Ohio guys from the registry and we're going to get together for a comparison session this week. He's got an AP2 tho.
