Freak ice storm hits S2Ks in Southern California

Also look at the door handles, the picture of the rear shows the "roll" hoops are solid, the rear bumper tow hook cover isn't defined.
Other wise, it'd very hard to distinguish the real thing with this miniature.
My first guess was that it was the Tamiya plastic model put together and painted very nicely by an experienced modeler. Then I saw the doors of the car and see that they look like they open. The only open door models that are made are by Maisto and the other metal S2K maker, Auto Art. The Maisto has a front plate and the one in this pic does not, SOOO I'm guessing this is the Auto Art S2K.
I NEED to know if I'm right or not!!!

Well...nice try!
Notice the chunk of ice in the middle of the door in the top photo. See how it moves to the front of the door in the bottom photo? Odd isn't it? Also, the front door seam looks way out of tolerance. Nice big gap there!
My guess is this a model...
Looks GREAT though!!

Ding! Ding! Ding! .....And joe_s2k gets it right on all three counts!
1) It's an Auto Art 1/18 size model
2) Taken on the glass top of a patio table
3) Using crushed ice from the freezer
I only took the pics to see how well the model would photograph compared to the real thing. Pretty good likeness it seems.
The real giveaway was the license plate. Anyone with an Auto Art should have recognized it straightaway.

wow! remarkable likeness. only things that i saw that give it away.. is the rear view mirror, body-tow plug thingy on the bumper, and the fact those huge blocks of ice would of left some nice sized dents. oh and in the top pic the rear antenna is at a different angle then the real thing.

Good job!
I was away skiing for a few days and this post was a lot of fun.
I also have an Auto Art model like yours. Often, the antenna gets bent like that from the cleaning folks who move it around to dust my desk.
