Default Day went from terrible, to great, & back to bad...

So I took my tires off today to paint my calipers and this is what I found....

Pretty bad huh? So i went down and got a sweet deal on some Pirelli 225-45-16 including the hazard warranty thing. Got them mounted and balanced for $350 so I was happy once again. Tires handle great compared to what I came from. lol

So I was on the way home coming off the highway when a cat or something ran out in front. Doing about 50-ish I swerved to miss it. Car lost traction and started fishtailing so I let it go sideways to slow down and regain control. I slid off the road and I'm bouncing along in the grass when I see one of those metal pole/rod things they use for signs coming up quickly. I let off the brakes to try to move forward to avoid it but it catches my rear bumper right before I pull the car back straight. This is the result...

So the question is what do I do? Obviously not insurance. Anyone know if the paint can be fixed easily? And what about the exhaust tip? Is there a way or a special tool to make it round again?

Preparing for any flame I might get for not just hitting the dang animal but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A healthy respect for life isn't a bad thing. If anything, you probably should keep closer tabs on your tire life.

As for the bumper, it is hard to tell whether there is a dent there. If there is no dent then you will likely be out ~$400-$600 bucks in paint/labor at any reputable shop. Not sure about the exhaust.

Yeah I know I just didn't have the funds for tires till recently.

There is no dent in the bumper...just the exhaust.

If the muffler is't wasted, just have the tip cut off and a small piece of tail pipe welded into place. Good enough until you get the rest of the car back into shape.

wow I thought your tires were slicks or something. How the hell do you run your tires down that much? Was it intentional?

Ouch...sorry to hear about your bad luck. From what I can tell it really doesn't look too bad aside from the exhaust. Shortly after I got my S2 earlier this year someone backed into my rear bumper while it was parked and scuffed it up pretty badly. Fortunately I didn't have to replace the bumper, it was able to be fixed and now looks good as new. Here's the damage for reference:

Hope this helps give you an idea what to expect, I doubt you'll need to replace your bumper unless you want to or if there is hidden damage underneath.

Why? Do you just have a high deductible? This doesn't seem like a crash you'd be held accountable for, unless you were really speeding or something.

I guess ~$500 or more is the typical deductible though (500 is what I have), so if that's the case, it makes sense.
