gears 4.56
hello guys in s2ki,
i have an issue and i thought you might help. i installed rick`s gears to my s2k for three months. it changed the final drive ratio from 4.10 to 4.56, so the speedometer reading`s arent accurate now and show faster speeds than actual. i know that the difference is 11% but my question is: does also the odo meter gets inaccurate too? or not. does the odo record more miles than the actual milage by 11% too? if so thats a big problem! LOL thank u for reading, please reply and tell me what do u think |
yes, the odometer is affected. I believe the speedo and odometer run off the same signal.

it changed the final drive ratio from 4.10 to 4.56 Or 4.57 ;) You need a Yellow Jacket or Yellow Box to correct your speedo / odo. Both are available online. How do you like your 4.57r's? :hello: |
thanks for the reply.. i noticed that my milage moves so fast!
anyone who has gears on his car to confirm that? |

the car feels torqier in daily driving. and i think that the car is still capable of more than a 1/4mile good runs. at most 600meters and after that the acceleration wont be strong. starting off the line is significantly better :) my mods include: j`s racing old 63mm cat back, t1r test pipe, j`s racing headers, aem cai, all flowing well with the gears. mid range is well improved with the headers. |
confirmed

Get the Yellow box.

what's stopping people from over-correcting the speedo / odo and therefore make the mileage move slower? like, half the speed?
