Now, this statement will probably get some objections.

The word "censorship" should have NEVER been used in describing what is being discussed in this thread. The attempt is not to CENSOR the street encounters forum. To CENSOR something would be a mod deleting a post the way they ALWAYS do in the for sale forum. What is being done in the street encounters forum is CONDONING AND ENCOURAGING SOMETHING THAT IS ILLEGAL IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I don't think mine is any better than the other's; paying or not.

Ok, I need to put my two cents in.

I think most people are missing the point. To me, it seems a lot of members want to get rid of the forum because of how it makes the board look to outsiders. Who cares! Geez, if someone tells you have the most ugly shirt in the world, do you go right home and change? To do a change, because of what outsiders think, is ridiculous.

If you think by getting rid of the forum will make s2ki so much more sophisticated, you're wrong. Folks, I don't know how many times I have seen idiotic (probably ignorant) statements in S2000 Talk and Car Talk. Encounters becomes a pissing match because of ego. Ego is the root cause for all pissing matches. Someone can't or won't or is unable to admit they're wrong or at least open himself to think about what the other person is saying.

And the reality is this, no matter what this board thinks, it really doesn't matter. This isn't a democracy. The people who own and run this board will make a decision on what is kept and what is thrown away.

I don't remember being able to discuss if politics should be bantered about on this board. One day, it was just banned. All threads locked. It's just like anything else in life, if you don't like it, you can try to change it, but in the end, it's up to the people in power.

This is a good thread with, again, a ton of idiotic, sophmoric content. Personal attacks arising with some good discussions flowing intermittently through all the crap. Seems like a normal day in message board (all of them!) world to me.

ERIK

PS - Anyone who is thinking of realistically selling their car because of idiots on a forum, good luck finding a car you'll like. What of the most moronic statements I have read in a while.

100% erik. That is an excellent post.

I'm done argueing the subject, and will see my way out of it, because there is no simple solution at all.

It's essentially like an Abortion debate. Each side sees it their own way and there really is no room for compromise or convincing the opponent. I've voted and that's about all I can do.

But you don't make any point...which was my point.

I'm not implying that my opinion(s), as a paying member, are any "better" than those coming from non-paying members.
