I can't tell you which car to purchase, I have not driven all of them.
But I can give you a good piece of advice which might help you.
If money is not the issue ALWAYS get the NEW car.

Sell your car, cause it will depreciate more once the 04 S2000 comes out. If you don't like the 04 you probably can find a good deal on an 03. But if money is no object then definatly get the M3. M3 would be my first choice if I could afford it.

Dumb question, but if you love your car, why are you selling it?? It's a decent offer on your '01, but why incur further costs if you already have the car you want?? If you're that into taking a good offer on your car, then sell it and buy another used one and pocket a grand or two. Or sell your car and plan to buy either an '03 or an '04 once you see which you prefer, but again, you're just incurring further cost to end up with the same car you have.

Thanks for your input -- but that wasn't the kind I was asking for. The feedback I was looking for was - what would you do --- not I cant think for myself.
As far as money is concerned.. the S2000 is paid for -- so I'd have a fantastic downpayment on anything I get.
So here are the figures!!
1) my car plus 7400 (with TTL for a 2003 S2000)
2) my car plus 12,748 (with TTL for a 2004 350Z Roadster)
3) my car plus 8,488 (with TTL for a 2004 RX8)
4) my car plus 22,998 (with TTL for a 2001 M3 Convertible with 6,000 miles, xenon, harmon kardon etc).
Thanks for your ideas/suggestions.

$23,5 cash for a '01 is a pretty good price. the price WILL drop when you get the first cool wind blowing (you're in MN... that's probably next week). MY04 will be a "yet to be determined" factor in the value of used S's.

sorry, but the M3 convertables are kind of poser/girly cars IMO... There are a lot of high school girls that drive them around here because their rich parents bought the car for them.
Personally, the E46 M3 coupe is a pretty sweet ride if you can afford one and can get a decent deal on one. I just can't see spending that much money on a car though, even though I could afford one if I sold both of my other cars.
I guess the only BMW's around here I really respect are the ones with TC Kline stickers on them and Forgeline/Kinesis rims that people track or autocross. Too many posers unfortunately...
RX8 is kind of weak... I like the front, but from the A-pillar back is just odd and it isn't that quick. I can't say it's no good because I haven't driven one, but I really don't have the desire to.
Honestly man, if you're a driver... the S is probably one of the best cars to own.
