I know this has been talking about before, but when I was with a friend on Sunday, I tried to roughly measure the ground clearance. He didn't have the front spoiler, and it was still only about 6 inches off the ground. For those who have the front lip spoiler (I plan on getting it too), how small of a bump does it take for you to scrape the front?

I measure mine at 5 inches. Answer, not much. I use the chin spoiler as a bumper condom. I figure it cheap to to toss it and get a new one than the bumper when it cracks or breaks.

I asked the same question at a recent HSCC meeting and a memebr showed me the Honda front lip on his. It appears it sits mostly in front of the apron rather than under it. My impressions was that you lost about 1/2 inch at most, maybe less. Can someone with the Honda lip concur?

Yes that is true. The lip doesn't cost you much clearance

Officially the S2000's ground clearance is 4.2 inches (without front lip spoiler).
In case anyone cares, here are some others: 4.2" S2000 3.7" C5 Corvette Convertible 4.1" Boxter S 5.9" Integra GSR From the trivia department, Tedster |
I subscribe to cthree's bumper condom theory myself.

I measured 5.75" clearance all round. I have no suspension mods, and run on regular stock tires. I can't explain how cthree would get only 5" clearance unless he's got the "projecting" type of spoiler.
