I am trying to determine actual trade-in value. I know kelly and nada gives you a rough idea, but I am wanting to know real world numbers. Anyhow, if anyone has, please post model year, condition, miles, and how much the dealer gave. Oh, and I guess post if you received any discount off the MY04 MSRP and how much the discount was. Thanks in advance.

What about if you give us information on your car and we can give you an estimation of what you should expect to get. That will probably be the best thing to do.

Trade in Value varies widely with location. You will always do better selling it on your own even with the tax break. On my last two car purchases I bettered the dealers best trade offers by 3500 and 2500 on both cars I sold. This was on a purchase of high end new cars. Plus you make the buying process much easier with only one varible to negotiate.

Everybody seems to be ready to offer me $22k for my '02 with 16k miles. I think I can get closer to $24k on trade-in if I work on them a bit.

They'll put it up for sale for $27-28k, regardless.

Traded my 00 red/blk with 16,500 miles new tires and an upgraded stereo in excellent cond.got 20k.First I got a price that I was comfortable with on the 04(31,700 out the door tax tag and title) then I asked if they would give me 20k on trade that way I Knew what I was getting.I tried to deal with Gwinett Place Honda but they wanted MSRP so I went to Appletree Honda in Asheville NC.Tried to sell my car about 6 months earlier but no luck and did'nt want the hassle of doing it again.
