Having doubts about my newly bought s2k
Whats up guys so I’m new to this forum of course and just purchased an 03 s2000. I currently have an 02 Rsx type s in pretty mint condition. The s2k I bought for 6k which I felt was a steal but does need minor work. The engine is an HMotors engine (ap1) with about 70k miles, which seems to have a valve cover gasket leak that I’ll be replacing soon. Also the car is clean title, however the front bumper and hood had a minor fender bender which didn’t go past messing up the bumper itself ( just bought replacement bumper). Aside from that one of the mufflers has an annoying rattling sound which is due to something being loose in the canister itself which I’ll be replacing as well. The interior is in very good condition (red interior) however obviously the car needs a little work. Not sure which car to keep at this point. My RSX type s or the s2k given it needs work. What should I do!?

Seeing as it’s an s2k forum you’re going to get biased answers obviously. With that being said I’d still lean heavily towards the s2k. Minor damage can be corrected...6k was an absolute steal. How many miles are on it? If anything you could probably flip it right now and make a hefty profit. Get it all ironed out and you could feasibly make 4-5k+++ depending on mileage

6K for a clean title S2000 is a steal even with 140k miles. Just from the rear picture I can see something I would address and it is the exhaust fitment. Its touching the bumper on the passengers side. Not really a great thing. It depends on what you want. Do you want a project car or do you want a car that you can just drive and not be messing with?

If you were paying 6k for this S2000 you had to know there would be some issues that need sorting. If you are willing to fix it up and have the means to do so, then do it. Even if you had to put $2000 to get it up to scratch you are still coming out ahead. It may be a bit hard to flip with the mileage and different engine, but YOU bought it so there will be customers out there if that's your decision. If you aren't hurting for cash, drive them both and make a decision with enough data to support it.

Well I really do need to sell one of them. I feel like 6k for this s2k was a steal aside from the minor things needing to be done. I wanna take it to Ballade Sports for them to give it a diagnostic to see what i should have done to it to have it last. Ultimately if i sell the rsx this will be my daily. Aside from the valve cover gasket leak mechanically its good. Vtec hits hard, smooth powerband, clutch was recently repaced to ACT so its definitely good to go. Just had my doubts after i initially bought it thats all. Slowly the car has been winning me over after every drive. Nonetheless ima hate letting my rsx go.
