Default Havoline Oil

I was just at the gas station filling up and I checked the oil. It was a little lower than I'd like, so I went into the store to get some oil. They didn't have much of a selection, but I got Havoline SAE 10W-30 oil. Is it ok to let my baby drink this?

Any oil is better than no oil. I would not make it a long term choice.

What is the best conventional oil to use? What engine oil do you guys change your cars with before switching to synthetic?

(with cdelena) KW-AP1, ya snuk in there on me......

I use Castrol GTX, all the wear tests and chemical composition tests speak for themselves...... I'll be using Royal Purple in 3000 miles

Castrol GTX 10W30 here until 15,000 miles.

Any dino oil you use should have "API-SL" certification. The SL was a big jump in quality, and oil that meets this spec should be very good.

I use Castrol GTX 10W30 also for now. I plan on switching to Mobil1 synthetic after 10k miles.

Well, I did it. It took a whopping 4 oz of oil to get it full. I can't imagine that little would make any difference in the world. I'll get some Honda oil tomorrow at the dealership.

i work at a honda dealership for my part time job and i have never seen genuine honda 10w-30 in the parts department...the only10w-30 conventional oil they have is white bottle Castrol GTX(very good IMO)...good thing i get everything for free. thats a good reason to work at a honda dealership.
